Happy New Year! Just wanted to let you know that Paul and I rang in the New Year in our new home here in San Diego, so we (once again) have new contact info. You will find it below. Paul will start at his new job tomorrow as a doc for the Navy SEALs on Coronado Island. He is definitely looking forward to it and the hours should be good so therefore I am also looking forward to it. Our house here is pretty much completely unpacked (thanks to a ton of help from our friends who were here visiting from Phoenix for New Year's - thanks Dan & Jamie!!!)...all we have left to do is hang all our pictures on the walls (which is Paul's LEAST favorite thing to do)! We have already found a church that we really like and we will be starting a small group bible study later this month. I have also already joined a gym and plan to start using it tomorrow (in addition to being able to do cardio outside EVERY DAY!!!). My pregnancy is going well. I am finally over my nausea and my belly is starting to grow. I'm at the stage now where I just look fat, not quite pregnant! Hope you had a blessed Christmas and that your New Year is off to a great start! Come visit us ANYTIME...our guest bedroom is ready and waiting and so is the beautiful San Diego weather (it was 82 degrees today in case you were wondering)!

It's been almost 5 months since my last update, so my guilt has finally motivated me enough to get another one written. I got so used to writing about our moving and traveling adventures that it is difficult to just write about everyday stuff now that residency is keeping us in one place! Back in July, Paul was fortunate enough to only have to work one shift over 4th of July weekend. We decided to go up to my parent's place on Mille Lacs Lake (where I spent my summers growing up). It was little surreal being able to do the things with my own kids that I did as a kid on the same lake that I did them (fishing, tubing & skiing, playing on the lake shore, etc). And there is nothing that makes me still feel young more than doing active things that require some physical skill (such as water skiing). Despite having planned to have four kids since I got married, shortly before Jolie was born I had some major doubts about whether I would be able to stay home with four kids and not lose my sanity.  Well, despite yesterday's post I am happy to report that I am doing it.  Although our house is much louder, there are more dishes in the sink, and our laundry piles seem to be bigger every day, I can honestly say that life is good.  Crazy, but good.  Although four kids means four times the arguments, discipline, and tears, it also means four times the fun, laughter, and love!  Since the day we decided to start trying to have kids, our guiding verse has been Psalm 127:3-5, "Don't you see that children are God's best gift, the fruit of the womb, his generous legacy? South-Eastern US Road Trip: 12/18/20

 Day: 7 South Carolina, Georgia, Florida This morning we went to the beach. There was a pier further down the beach that we walked under. On the way, we found lots of shells and washed-up sea urchins. It was very cold, and not a swimming sort of day. We then drove to Charleston. We had booked a tour of Fort Sumter and while waiting we played at a park nearby. At the appointed time, we arrived at the ferry and boarded. A volunteer asked us if we wanted to be Junior Rangers and we all said yes as we had done this in the past at other national parks and monuments. From the ferry, we saw the Navy Destroyer USS Laffey and Aircraft Carrier USS Yorktown. The Yorktown was bigger than the Ark we had seen earlier! The harbor has a pod of 105 dolphins and we saw a few swimming in front of the boat and around the harbor. The volunteer talked about the history of the harbor and pointed out a few other smaller forts. Once we got to Fort Sumter, we listen to a ranger talk, were showed fingerprint...
